The purpose of the present paper is going to focus on one of the most important aspects of last-mile logistics, namely drone technology. It goes further into design of UA Vs in delivery systems, analyzing the present use, the main stakeholders, issues in operation, and trends in the future. This research explores the role of key players such as leading traditional retailers like Amazon and Google as well as emerging innovative companies towards driving the advancement of drone technology for last mile delivery. Furthermore, this paper aims to discuss the new technologies, the current laws, and the customers' readiness to determine the feasibility of the use of the drones as effective, timely, and environmentally friendly last-mile delivery solutions.
