A convergence analysis of a fuzzy relaxation algorithm for image contrast enhancement is first provided, which shows that the convergence statement about the algorithm cannot be guaranteed. Thereupon, a new fuzzy relaxation algorithm with good convergence properties for image contrast enhancement is presented and experimental results show the validity of the proposed algorithm.
