The new fully integer processing of the wavelet transform scheme enables very fast application and thus it can be very useful for application in real-time systems. The most important property of this concept seems to be the possibility of simple and fast application into FPGA chip. In this paper lifting scheme is an alternative implementation of DWT. It requires fewer operations and provides in-place computation of the wavelet coefficients. This paper presents a method which implements 2-D lifting wavelet by FPGA. The result of simulation displays that lifting scheme needs less memory requirement.
