We present the optical fiber splicing method using in-line typed PDLC and its polarization-dependent characteristics. PDLCs are inserted between two fibers. These fibers are nearly contacted. The fibers are aligned with appliance of a glass tube in order to introduce maximum coupling efficiency. The polarization-dependent characteristics of the device shown are shown.
