In order to improve the torque density and overload performance of permanent magnet synchronous motor, the electromagnetic analysis of the motor is carried out from the topological level. Firstly, the effects of pole-slot combination on the torque density and overload performance of the motor are analyzed respectively. Then, according to the Halbach structure, the effect of different block number and width of each pole on the motor torque density and overload performance is analyzed. Finally, on the basis of the above research, three kinds of motor topologies with better performance are selected to provide guidance for the follow-up research work.
