The goal of this study is to discuss the role of different guidance systems during landing phase facing preliminary design of large civil aircraft landing system. As a basic, an auto-landing control system of Boeing 747 is designed. Based on the signal statistics of ILS, GPS, radar system and the image-forming principle of visual guidance system, the four guidance error models are established. Then a method of evaluating the guidance systems is put forward by defining safety cost and comfort cost according to performance indexes. Finally, simulations of auto-landing are performed to evaluate performance of guidance systems and a design-making progress is designed. The results can reflect the characteristics of different guidance systems and help to analysis the guidance strategy for information fusion.
