This paper deals with Interfacing of Transmitter/Receiver (T/R) modules with radar system. Need for interface is to achieve Beam steering of an antenna. “Beam steering of an antenna will change the direction of the main lobe in the radiation pattern of radar. It consists of two modules Radar controller and TRMC (TR Module Controller implemented in FPGA) in which the control signals are exchanged between the two and if the T/R modules are faulty then it is informed to the operator. The Phase, elevation and frequency values are loaded to T/R modules is done using VHDL coding, so that the beam can be steered to the desired position. Electronic steering has the advantage of being extremely flexible and remarkably fast.
