Due to many special features, currently electric vehicle (EV) has become a very interesting topic for researchers. There are many such encouraging features in the electric vehicle which are not there in a normal IC engine based vehicle. In an electric vehicle, DC batteries drive the motor. Due to absence of IC engine, the EVs are not noisy unlike the conventional vehicles. In case of HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle) both, the engine as well as battery are present in which the DC battery is charged by the engine. In the present paper, control systems based on three different techniques are designed using the MATLAB for controlling the speed of motor. A comparative analysis of the performance of all developed control systems is also presented.
