This paper selects ten major cities along the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway. This paper aims to analyze the spatial spillover effect and regional economic growth brought by high-speed railway network from the theoretical and empirical perspectives. The high-speed railway network brings convenience to the cities along the Beijing-Shanghai route. It also reduces the commuting cost between regions and speeds up the economic development. At the same time, the high-speed railway network also makes the siphon effect of core cities along the Beijing-Shanghai line more significant. It also results in the shortage of elements, production reduction and negative spatial spillover effect in surrounding cities.
