Summary form only given. In summary, our structure succeeds in overcoming the spectral drift problem commonly found in straining fibre Bragg grating (FBG) methods and it is adjustable. Further more, the chirping produced in a FBG by this structure has been shown to compensate fully the fibre dispersion due to both pre-chirped optical pulses and propagation over 50 km fiber at 2.5 GHz.
