• The evolution of avionics system from the 1960s to the present day is experienced distributed avionics architecture, federates digital architecture and integrated modular architecture. • Integrated avionics architecture is desirable for the next generation of high performance aircraft. • Optical networks provide greater bandwidth, excellent data transmission rate, enhanced immunity to electromagnetic interference, and less weight and size; therefore, the performance of the optical network can meet the demands of avionics system development.
