A number of diagnostic systems for vehicle maintenance/repair have been developed in recent years. These systems are employed for diagnosing variety of faults in the vehicle and are available at service level. We have made an attempt to design a diagnostic system for detection of faults based on neural network. The system developed is based on a fault table for the engine. Such a diagnostic module is aimed at increasing the utility of the system.
