Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANET) is an emerging and promising technology that provides real-time assistance to automobiles. An increasing rate of accidents on road has shown a need for an Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) which can generate signals and can intimate nearby automobiles. In such a dynamic environment, authenticity is a major challenge. Various authentication schemes already prevailing are discussed with their implementation.
