This paper explores UAV infrared inspection methods for transmission lines, based on infrared payload recommendations, State Grid UAV inspection guidelines, and typical equipment data for 1000kV transmission towers. Key parameters, such as flight waypoints, camera angles, and inspection targets like composite insulators, compression fittings, suspension fittings, and bypass wires, were established. A practical flight route was planned and tested on a typical tension tower of the 500kV Hanyun 5436 line in Zhejiang, demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed parameter selection approach.
