The full-wave mode single-phase high-frequency link inverter (FWMSPHFLI),which composed of a high frequency inverter, an isolate high-frequency transformer and a cycloconverter, is widely studied for its advantages of small volume, low noise, low cost and isolated power conversion. A novel soft commutation method based on FWMSPHFLI is proposed in this paper. The experimental results show that this method can achieve zero voltage switching (ZVS) of all the switches in the cycloconverter and natural commutation without auxiliary circuits and commutation overlap of the switches in the cycloconverter.
