Vehicle retrogradation is one of the top ten road traffic offences and poses a serious threat to driving safety. Currently, retrograde monitoring measures suffer from untimely warnings, high costs and high manpower consumption. This study designs a new road retrogradation monitoring and warning system for urban roads, using an RP-L resistive pressure-sensitive sensor and an STM32F407 chip, combined with one-way physical speed bumps, capable of monitoring vehicle retrogradation and providing a multi-dimensional real-time alert warning effect. Information about the breach is transmitted remotely via the internet to the main control center and evidence of the breach is retained. The system is capable of real-time monitoring, timely warning and multi-dimensional alerting, even if the driver is in a state of inattention such as drink-driving or fatigue driving. The system makes up for the shortcomings of traditional retrograde monitoring systems and has strong compatibility and scope for development and promotion.
