In this paper, we calculate the structure and the bias currents for two-section DFB lasers under self-pulsing conditions. We include in the calculation the differences in the wavenumber detunings based on the bias-current-induced wavelength shift and the bias currents. This detuning difference affects the dynamics of the two-section DFB lasers in the same manner as the static difference in the Bragg grating periods.
