Neon ionization measurements from 10/sup 14/W/cm/sup 2/ to 10/sup 18/W/cm/sup 2/ quantify rescattering and nonsequential ionization physics as the interaction evolves from a nonrelativistic to relativistic response. A relativistic 3D model is found to be in excellent agreement.
