This paper presents dynamic pricing for electric vehicle charging in a mobile charging service (MCS) for social welfare maximization. In mobile charging service, the mobile charging stations (MCS) charge EV charging requests at their preferred place and time. The EV owner chooses the location she needs her vehicle to be charged from a mobile and desktop application. The benefits of this type of charging scheme can only be reaped if multiple EV charging requests are serviced by each MCS. However, the EV charging requests can be spatially and temporally random and thus make it challenging to assign multiple requests to each mobile charging station. In order to control the EV charging requests, we present the dynamic pricing mechanism where the charging service operator presents a menu of prices for different demands and deadlines for each EV request. Depending on the utility, the EV owner may choose an option from the menu or reject all. Furthermore, we show that the number of MCS and the cost of charging reduce substantially in the proposed pricing scheme.
