A parametric, computationally simple algorithm is presented that estimates one or two sinusoidal frequencies directly from measured zero crossing times. The method does not require A/D conversion and possesses an operating bandwidth of one-half octave with a useful amplitude dynamic range of 25 db. Error analysis and simulation results are provided.
