This paper presents a simulation study on the thermal behavior of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels using PV syst software. This study calculates the heat loss factor (U-value) for three scenarios: default settings in PV syst, meteorological data, and additional wind conditions for a temperate region (Kashmir, India). Based on these U-values, further simulations were performed. The results showed an improvement in the thermal behavior of the PV module, with the average module temperature decreasing from 29.87°C to 23.72°C in the temperate region scenario. When wind conditions were considered, there was a slight additional decrease in the average module temperature to 23.46°C. Furthermore, the efficiency of the PV panels increased by 1-1.2 %, and array losses decreased from 0.52 to 0.32 kWh/kWp/day respectively. The performance ratio also increased from 0.87 to 0.924.
