Radar target identification based on High Resolution Range Profiles (HRRPs) has received much attention because of its reduced complexity compared to those using two-dimensional (2D) ISAR images. Some preprocessing and classifying algorithms are examined in this paper for discriminating air-targets from signals of an experimental C-band radar. The real-world data of three different aircraft are used: Citation, An-26 and Yak-42. Several sets of features are derived from HRRPs and their effectiveness is several classifiers. Good and large reduction in dimensionality of feature vectors is achieved in the classification problem of multiple aircraft at multiple aspects.
