The increased temperature capability inside the motor is a major challenge in building high power density motors for many applications in the transportation systems and aerospace industries. Inorganic insulation technology is used to break through the temperature limitation of the motor under the organic electrical insulation system (EIS) in this paper. Firstly, the high-temperature resistant ceramic insulated aluminum wire and its advantages in motors are introduced. Then, the ceramic insulated aluminum wire is applied in an electrically excited flux switching motor, and the thermal performance and design method is developed. At last, a prototype is made and experimental is put forward.
