An affordable SBR system will require technology advances in multiple technology areas. As in most technology research programs, there are many more potentially worthwhile research programs than there is funding to support. The process of developing a technology roadmap or technology investment strategy requires the ability to identify the technology areas most likely to make the maximum system level impact in the future. This paper will identify the process used to develop the SBR technology roadmap, some of the initial findings of that analysis, and the important technology capabilities to be developed.
