One of the most major problems faced all around the globe, but particularly in the United States of America, is that of drowsy drivers on the road. sleepy driving was responsible for over 90,000 accidents between the years of 2015 and 2017, according to information given by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and the number of deaths recorded due to sleepy driving was close to 4,000 between the years of 2013 and 2017. People may fall asleep while driving for a variety of reasons, including fatigue, distractions, or lack of concentration. According to the findings of one research, drivers who had been behind the wheel for longer periods of time had lower levels of both their ability to judge themselves and their ability to pay attention. A driver’s ability to detect their surroundings and maintain safe driving conditions is negatively impacted when they are sleepy. There are occasions when a driver will take medication that has the potential to make them drowsy after a long day of work, or when they are travelling after working long shifts or midnight shifts. Other times, a driver may take medicine that has the potential to make them sleepy while they are sick. Both drowsiness and distractions while driving may lead to a loss of consciousness, which in turn can result in a lack of attention on the side of the driver. It is not a single event that triggers the development of driver drowsiness; rather, it is distinguished by a gradual disengagement of attention from the road and the demands of traffic. However, it is plausible that both fatigue and distraction in drivers could have the same consequences. These impacts include a loss in a driver’s ability to drive, an increase in the probability of being involved in an accident, and a lengthening of response time.
