The influence of the electron-beam velocity spread on the coaxial-waveguide cyclotron autoresonance maser (CARM) is investigated by nonlinear simulation. It is found that the velocity spread substantially decreases the power indeed, but it may be suppressed efficiently by a tapered magnetic field.
