This paper discusses the conversion efficiency and device behavior of an edge-coupled membrane photonic transmitter, which is composed of a high-speed photodetector, a RF choke filter and planar antenna. With a radiation frequency of 645 GHz, the conversion efficiency can be improved higher than 0.1% while this value is a function of optical illumination power, device bias, and antenna design.
