Summary form only given. Recent experiments demonstrate that photorefractive spatial solitons can be formed in semi-insulating InP:Fe¿.2 through the formation of self-induced waveguides. This paper reports on the coherent collision between two solitons in InP at the telecommunications wavelength of 1.3 pm to form a y-junction.
