Bike-sharing systems have been globally spread for the purpose of supplementing mass transport systems. However, there exist some difficulties in attaining the profitable revenue only by a bike-sharing service and in letting bike-sharing users keep traffic rules of bicycles. It might be useful for the bike-sharing service to contribute more to the public and the public transport system for the sake of its sustainable future. We analyzed the current characteristics of the bike-sharing trip patterns by using GPS data of "Docomo Bike Share" in Tokyo and examined some methods for upgrading a position of bike-sharing service from the viewpoint of the publicity including a crime watch ride in the community.
