The paper presents an analysis of non-contact measurements of wear, resulting from machining, of the selected type of a cutting tool. The measurements were carried out using two popular coordinate measuring systems: InfiniteFocus G4 by Alicona and GOM Scan 1 by Zeiss. Moreover, the paper presents a detailed description of the processing of measurement data obtained by means of the above-mentioned systems to assess the crater wear of a cutting tool. The results of the conducted research indicate that the InfiniteFocus G4 measuring system is more useful than the GOM Scan 1 system in terms of coordinate measurements of the wear parameters of the selected cutting tool.
