Conventional energy sources currently provide the majority of our energy needs, but within a few decades, these resources are expected to run out. So, it is crucial to swap them out for non-conventional energy sources. One of the most well-established non-conventional energy sources nowadays is wind energy. However, prior to installation, it is essential to analyze the prevailing wind energy conversion system to avoid installation problems. Setting up an actual wind turbine in a laboratory is challenging, As a result, the current study tries to simulate wind turbine performance using a closed-loop independently excited DC motor. The primary purpose of this research is to develop a Matlab/Simulink simulation model of a Wind Turbine Emulator (WTE) using an independently excited DC motor.
