There is a whole range of collegiate competitions that present real industry challenges to engineering students in order to provide an opportunity to develop a project from the very beginning, evaluating the requirements and making decisions aiming the best performance in the competition. In particular, many AeroDesign competitions focus on enhancing payload capabilities and efficiency, challenges that are also present in most aeronautical industry projects. To solve this challenges, multidisciplinary optimizations are widely used, assembling knowledge from different areas of an aeronautical project including aerodynamics, performance, structural, stability, controllability, among others. This paper presents an evolutionary approach, based on genetic algorithms, to optimize the wing of an aircraft developed to compete on the advanced class of SAE Brazil AeroDesign 2019, including aerodynamics and performance analysis.
