There are several approaches proposed for embedding watermark data into binary images. In this paper, we discuss the relationship between these embedding schemes, in particular, the pixel-pattern method and key-weight method. We argue that a pixel-pattern method can be linked to key-weight method by selecting a set of (key, weight) matrices. A unification framework is given to show the advantages and disadvantages of these methods.
