In this paper, a simulation study was carried out for intelligent operations of access points to airport control areas. The pedestrian behavior and the security check processes were simulated by using AnyLogic. Three evaluation indicators were proposed, namely passing capacity, average inspection time, and the workload of security check. The simulation experiment showed that the intelligent operation of the access points to control areas can improve the passing efficiency, reduce the time needed for the pedestrians to pass the security check, relieve traffic congestion in peak hours, and lessen the workload for the security check personnel.
