Summary form only given. Noncollinear optical parametric amplification (NOPA) is attracting a great deal of attention as a novel method of ultrashort pulse generation. We recently reported transform-limited sub-9-fs pulse generation with tunability both in the wide ranges of the visible and near-infrared by introducing the pulse-front-matched (PFM) geometry. Here we present successful operation of a full-bandwidth PFM-NOPA, which generates visible pulses of 4.7/spl plusmn/0.1 fs duration, the shortest visible pulses ever reported.
