Summary form only given, as follows. We present the potential of FELs and micro-wiggler optical klystrons based on tandem accelerators as a coherent tunable quasi-cw source in the 10-1000 micrometer region. We demonstrate feasibility of the concept based on a recently developed 1 Amp 5-6 MeV tandem accelerator.
