We have constructed a continuous-wave terahertz imaging system based on diode lasers, a photoconductive emitter, and a phase-sensitive photoconductive receiver. It is inexpensive and compact, but with a performance comparable with established pulsed terahertz systems. We also use a novel photonic crystal filter to remove unwanted low frequency noise components.
