This paper aims to enhance vehicle safety by implementing an alcohol detection method to prevent accidents caused by driving under the influence. The approach involves integrating an MQ-3 alcohol sensor with a microcontroller, specifically an Arduino board. The MQ-3 sensor is employed to detect alcohol content in human breath, functioning within a fine sensitivity range of approximately 2 meters. The prototype includes an ignition system that simulates spark plug activation, serving as an ignition starter for the vehicle's engine. The ignition system's operation is contingent on the detected blood alcohol content (BAC) from human breaths as sensed by the alcohol sensor. The Arduino board facilitates the seamless integration of the alcohol sensor and offers expanded functionality compared to conventional microcontrollers. Notably, the compact size of the MQ-3 sensor allows for discreet installation within any vehicle, contributing to the device's adaptability. Emphasizing safety, the device is designed to safeguard individuals inside the vehicle, making it a valuable preventive measure against the risks associated with driving under the influence of alcohol.
