An aerial view of the road accident conditions is extremely important for Traffic Control Department and other relevant organisations in facilitating immediate investigation process. An Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) based assistance for an accident is proposed in the paper with a principle focus on visual vehicle identification and scene investigation. For navigation, GCS (Ground Control Service) is used where waypoints are set by the concerned authorities to course the UAV to the accident area using GPS coordinates. Once the drone reaches the target location, it locates the victim's vehicle and takes photographs/recordings of the accident zone. The proposed approach can identify the victim's vehicle; determine its position and move the UAV towards the vehicle while ensuring a minimum safety distance from it. The detection algorithm is implemented and executed over LabVIEW to communicate with the drone. The recordings and photographs from the UAV can serve as evidence for further investigation of the accident.
