A compact and efficient ultraviolet lidar system is designed and developed to measure the temperature profile in the troposphere. The Doppler broadened Rayleigh-Brillouin scattering is detected with two etalon filters. The Mie scattering noise effect is reduced by a proper signal processing method. High temperature sensitivity is expected in this scheme.
