Despite of the popularity of activity-based travel behavior analysis, there is few studies taking the other peoples' travel behavior from neighboring household into model specification, and the effects of the socio-demographic and environmental determinants on different members in the same household are ignored. Using the data from 2013 Nanjing Resident Travel Survey, this paper applied the spatial Durbin model to specify household members' travel distance by active mode and private car. Household members are divided into two groups according to Chinese household registration and culture context, which are household head and other household members respectively. Model results shows that the household head's travel distance is more sensitive not only to the members in the same household but also to the neighboring households, meanwhile the effect of neighboring household on the particular household head's travel distance by active mode is not the same with the effect on travel distance by private car. Furthermore, because of spillover effect processes, considering the spatially lagged variables of built environment may improve the goodness of fit and the interpretability of models.
