We analyze frequency sweep span sensitivity to the ring circuit PDL by numerical simulation and simple analytical equation model in order to specify the factor for PDL sensitivity. After that we propose an improved pulsed lightwave frequency sweeper configuration with a Faraday rotator mirror and an optical circulator and evaluate it.
