Analysis of congestion points is an important topic for traffic management. With the rapid development of ITS, probe car data can be obtained in more and more cities. This paper introduces a method for analyzing recurrent congestion points based on historical probe car data, and proposes evaluation models for recurrent congestion points. By using this method, recurrent congestion points in Beijing are analyzed based on 57 day's probe car data collected by 7000 taxis. In the end, microscopic analysis results show that the proposed analysis method is effective.
