In order to improve the operational efficiency of the airport, wireless broadband communication technology will be used as an important airport surface communication technology in the future. In 2007, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) proposed Aeronautical Mobile Airport Communication System (AeroMACS) [1]. This paper will introduce AeroMACS, including its network architecture and some application tests in Hongqiao Airport, such as vehicle monitoring, surface situation information display, video transportation, VOIP communication, runway intrusion prevention. These tests can be a reference for the future practical application of AeroMACS system in China
