A bi-directional and single-phase AC-DC converter with integrated LCL filter for EVs’ applications is proposed in this paper. State feedback control algorithm for LCL filter is adopted to suppress the oscillation caused by LC resonant. GaN E-HEMTs are employed in this converter to improve the system efficiency. The efficiency of the GaN based converter is compared with the IGBT based converter. The conduction loss and the switching losses of the converter can be reduced a lot by using GaN devices. A peak efficiency 98.127% of AC-DC converter is expected with the proposed method. Finally, a 2kW prototype with GaN E-HEMTs is tested and experimental data are obtained.
