With the global response to climate change, the demand for wind turbines has shown a spurt of growth. In the field of wind turbine gearbox, the core component of wind turbine, the comprehensive performance index of wind turbine gearbox has been greatly improved. But there are still some deficiencies in accuracy retention, which has become one of the bottlenecks restricting the industrialization development of wind turbines. The health status of wind turbine gearbox determines the life and accuracy of wind turbines, which has become the main reason for limiting the long-term stable operation of wind turbines. This paper summarizes the current literature and data, summarizes the development status of wind turbine gearboxes, and introduces the structural characteristics of wind turbine gearboxes. The advantages and disadvantages of various technologies are analyzed and compared from three aspects: dynamic characteristic theory analysis, dynamic simulation and experiment, and fault diagnosis. Furthermore, it explores the problems that need to be studied in depth, and focuses on the development of evaluation and prediction systems. The dynamics of the whole system are solved, and a new method of wind turbine gearbox fault prediction is explored in combination with experiments, which provides a reference for the research of wind turbine gearbox.
