A newly designed rocket launcher transporter is developed for transporting the post H-II rocket. The rocket is transported by two transporters electrically and hydraulically attached to each other. This paper focuses on the horizontal stabilization system. The total weight of a rocket and its holder is 1,265 ton, so that the active suspension is worked by the hydraulic system. The transporter has a 56 multi-wheel drive system and the active suspension is used to stabilize horizontally the rocket holder and the rocket itself by hydraulic pressure control on each wheel. Even on a bumpy road, the performance of /spl plusmn/0.2 degree or less in the horizontal stabilization was achieved.
