The depletion and cost of fossil fuels causes the automobile industry has started moving towards the development of Electric Vehicles. These vehicles are also classified as Green Transportation as they are free from harmful exhaust which affects the environment. In order to drive an electric vehicle, the motor should be able to overcome all the forces by producing sufficient power. Therefore, all electric vehicle manufacturers have their own customized electric motor to meet the necessary power and torque to produce motion. One of the most common public transports in India other than buses are three wheeled vehicles. It is easy to electrify those vehicles because they require less power for traction when compared to heavy public transports like vans, buses, etc. To electrify those vehicles, an appropriate motor is required. This project deals on the component design and electromagnetic analysis of customized Brush-less DC (BLDC) motor using ANSYS MOTOR-CAD software for small passenger vehicles.
