In today's world when data is transferred from one person to another, a very high level of security is required. Cryptography is very successful in keeping communication private and it involves the study of Encryption and Decryption. Encryption scrambles the data and produces a secret code which then can be read or decrypted by a secret key or password. Encryption uses the principles of confusion and diffusion to produce the encoded data. A lossless., dual channel based on a multi scroll chaotic system has been used. This paper focuses on audio encryption, which is the secure transfer of audio (speech, music) using encryption. This helps combat various hackers who will not be able to decipher confidential data. Cryptography., based on the number of keys used can be further divided into symmetric, asymmetric and hybrid cryptography. In this paper., we discuss cryptography using hashing algorithm SHA-256 which is one of the most secure hash functions introduced. Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) is applied along with its IDWT counterpart to increase timing efficiency of the program by nearly 50% or the simulation time is reduced by half. Various statistical analysis like correlation, peak signal to noise ratio(PSNR) and histogram were conducted and showed that the algorithm works efficiently.
