In this paper, we describe the performance (long pulse and Q switched) of a flashpumped Cr:LiSrAlF/sub 6/ laser utilizing an unstable resonator geometry. A graded reflectivity mirror output coupler is employed to generate a high brightness laser output with low divergence and a smooth transverse profile.
